About
Hello, I'm Graeme Scott.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist with a particular interest in helping people better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that can leave them feeling stuck. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem or simply a sense that life feels harder than it should, therapy offers a space to explore these experiences safely and at your own pace.
My practice is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which recognises that many of the ways we think, feel and relate to others develop over a lifetime. Together, we can begin to understand how past experiences may continue to shape your present, often outside of conscious awareness. By bringing these patterns into the open, therapy can create opportunities for lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms.
Central to the way I work is a relational approach. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful tools for change. By developing a trusting, collaborative relationship, we can explore how you experience yourself and others, recognise recurring patterns in relationships, and discover new ways of understanding and responding to life's challenges.
While psychodynamic therapy provides the foundation of my work, I draw upon approaches from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), humanistic therapy and other evidence-informed models where they are helpful. This allows therapy to be tailored to your individual needs rather than expecting you to fit one particular model.
I have extensive experience working with autistic and ADHD adults, including those who have experienced anxiety, trauma, burnout, masking, emotional regulation difficulties and challenges with identity and relationships. My approach is neuro-affirming and based on understanding each person's unique way of experiencing the world. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, are exploring the possibility of being neurodivergent, or simply recognise some of these experiences in yourself, you will be welcomed without judgement.
Before establishing Scott Therapies, I worked within specialist autism and mental health services, carrying out autism assessments and supporting individuals and families through diagnosis and beyond. This experience has given me a deep appreciation of the complex ways that neurodiversity, life experiences and relationships interact.
Above all, I believe therapy should feel like a conversation rather than an assessment. My aim is to offer a calm, thoughtful and compassionate space where you feel genuinely heard. Together, we can make sense of your experiences, strengthen your understanding of yourself, and work towards a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
My professional path
Successful career in financial services for 20 years
2001-2021
What a training ground for therapy! Staff working in financial services are often under enormous pressure. It can be a cut-throat environment. Challenging working relationships, toxic masculinity, burnout, financial stress, I have experience with all of these things and can support others who have shared similar experiences.
Breaking Free
2016 -2021
Financial services gave me so many skills but it ultimately didn't nourish the soul. I needed to be doing something that contributed in some way. I started training in counselling and psychotherapy and found my calling. I completed placements working with parents who'd had their children removed from social services as well as providing generalised counselling through a local doctor surgery. I learnt so much and continue to enjoy professional development.
Volunteering
2016-Present
I think everyone should do it! Hugely fulfilling. Over the last few years I've run a homework club in the local library, been a school governor and run mental health charity support groups. The difference we can make by giving a little bit of our time is enormous.
Launching and running my own businesses
2021-Present
I started RTN Mental Health Solutions in 2021 with my business partner. What started as a tiny venture offering therapeutic services to corporate clients turned into a wonderful adventure in ASD and ADHD diagnosis and treatment. I have been so priveleged to see the impact RTN has had on the thousands of people that have sought out its services. It continues to grow and will provide high quality person-centred health services for years to come.
Getting back to my roots
2026
Stepping away as an Executive at RTN was a difficult decision but I had to follow the work that I am most passionate about and that is working directly with clients who need support. After many years of experience, I am back completing diagnostic tools with clients for ASD and offering psychotherapeutic services. I am where I'm meant to be.
Creating space to understand yourself, your relationships and what truly matters to you.
